Data Engineering Role Overview

As a Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and developing scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services. This position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality data solutions that drive business insights.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL processes using GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Data Fusion, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Composer, Cloud Function, and Cloud RUN.
  • Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.
  • Data Integration and Processing: Implement data integration solutions to ingest, process, and store large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize and tune data pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
  • Data Quality and Integrity: Ensure data quality and integrity through data validation, cleansing, and transformation processes.
  • Data Modeling and Metadata Management: Develop and maintain data models, schemas, and metadata to support data analytics and reporting.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to data workflows.
  • Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest GCP technologies and best practices, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: 4 to 6 years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on GCP.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in GCP services such as BigQuery, Cloud Data Fusion, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Composer, Cloud Function, and Cloud RUN.
  • Programming Languages: Strong programming skills in Python and PL/SQL.
  • Databases: Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Data Warehousing: Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
  • Data Integration Tools: Familiarity with data integration tools and frameworks.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, strong communication and collaboration skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
