Job Description

In this pivotal role, you will serve as a Senior Redshift Engineer, tasked with architecting, optimizing, and scaling complex AWS Redshift environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough architecture reviews and validation for multiple AWS Redshift clusters
  • Provide expert recommendations for right-sizing assumptions, ensuring seamless scalability and performance
  • Develop and implement operational best practices, encompassing runbooks, monitoring, and alerting systems
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and health metrics for Redshift platforms
  • Analyze and optimize query performance through workload pattern analysis, schema design optimization, and tuning expertise

While fostering collaboration with cross-functional teams, you will assume a strategic consultative role, offering insightful guidance on reliability, scalability, and efficiency in Redshift environments.

Required Skills and Qualifications

A distinguished professional in the field of data engineering or database administration, you possess an impressive track record in delivering high-caliber solutions leveraging AWS Redshift. Your qualifications should include:

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering or database administration, with deep technical expertise in AWS Redshift
  • Proven success in cluster architecture review, sizing, and right-sizing recommendations
  • Strong background in query performance tuning, schema optimization, and workload management
  • Exceptional knowledge of Redshift fundamentals, including table design (Distribution and Sort Keys), WLM tuning, vacuum operations, and concurrency scaling

You are expected to excel in developing and implementing operational best practices, showcasing demonstrated expertise in schema governance, version control, and structured change management.
