Job Opportunity:

This role serves as the leader for Mainframe and Legacy Modernization, overseeing a portfolio of $100m+ and approximately 2500 employees.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of technology, domain, and industry, coupled with strong leadership capabilities. A strategic mindset and problem-solving skills are crucial, along with a proven track record of driving high performance measures.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and maintain a distinctive portfolio of offerings
  2. Drive practice growth through strategic initiatives
  3. Build strong client relationships by creating contextualized value propositions
  1. Spearhead the delivery engine's development and optimization
  2. Foster talent readiness and capability building to deploy solutions effectively
  1. Lead large-scale modernization and migration initiatives
  2. Collaborate with clients to identify business opportunities and provide relevant solutions
  1. Identify opportunities for deploying next-generation technologies, solutions, and operational efficiencies across the practice, driving profitable growth
  1. Support sales and pre-sales teams in acquiring new deals by understanding client needs and providing solutions
Thought Leadership:
  1. Promote the Practice as a thought leader through POV's, white papers, and technical papers on advanced topics
  2. Establish Wipro's authority in the domain/fields of play
  1. Publish case studies highlighting successful use cases and expertise in solving complex business issues
  2. Engage with clients at the solutioning stage to defend solutions, persuade on value add, and demonstrate competitive leadership
  1. Interact with Advisors and analysts to position the value proposition and differentiate from competition
  2. Benchmark partnerships with relevant partners to drive value to customers
Solution Development:
  1. Collaborate with other practices to develop winning solutions
  2. Build a strong pool of technologists and architects to bring thought leadership to solution development and implementation
  1. Drive effective technical scope management and solutioning across the practice, engage in deal solutioning for complex programs, and help define solutions for clients
  2. Determine the right solution choices to ensure effective delivery and outcomes
  1. Review proposals/deals for effective delivery feasibility and provide solution and revenue approvals to sales before booking orders
Delivery Management:
  1. Institutionalize Nex-Gen Solutions' capabilities, including AI, within delivery teams
  2. Mobilize certification and learning programs aligned with industry benchmarks
  1. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure project fulfillment, technology support, and flawless delivery
  2. Review and finalize account/project delivery structures, evaluating budget, costs, risks, and staffing requirements
  1. Monitor and review account/project health through periodic cadence, taking proactive measures to resolve issues or escalations
  2. Ensure 100% compliance with Project SLA's, information security protocols, etc.
Client Relationship Management:
  1. Drive high client satisfaction by creating strong value propositions across the value chain
  2. Share Wipro's capabilities and initiatives to support and fulfill client needs
  1. Partner with clients to drive transformation, adapting to new delivery models and instilling new ways of working in client organizations
Capability Development and Talent Management:
  1. Spearhead demand forecasting and resource planning aligned to requirements
  2. Create and deploy a workforce plan to fulfill required demands from all talent channels
  1. Build and execute future-ready workforce strategies, driving fungibility and multi-skilling approaches within the practice
  2. Lead upskilling initiatives across the practice, identifying essential skills to facilitate and drive the right supply chain
  1. Build a strong talent pool and leadership pipeline
  2. Set high performance standards for teams and practices
Innovation and Modernization:
  1. Lead the evolution of the mainframe practice into hybrid/cloud and DevOps models
  2. Evaluate and adopt emerging tools and technologies, such as DevOps for mainframe, COBOL modernization, and AI/ML for operations
  1. Enable cross-platform integration (mainframe to distributed/cloud) using modern tools and accelerators

Key Competencies:

  • Deep technical knowledge in the specific practice area –
    • Knowledge of cloud-native modernization tools (e.g., AWS Mainframe Modernization, Azure's Modernization Center, IBM zCloud)
    • Knowledge of current and upcoming technologies (automation, tools, and systems) to build efficiencies and effectiveness in own function/client organization
    • Deep specialized understanding of the practice domain, overall market, and competition, and nuances of delivery in that domain
    • Ability to bring in knowledge of core trends, future perspectives on disruption, new, and upcoming capabilities to develop new solutions for clients and skills within the practice
