Job Opportunity: Environmental Management Specialist

Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in the implementation of environmental regulations, monitoring new developments, and ensuring vessel compliance.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Implementing environmental regulations on ships and shore-based facilities
  • Monitoring new environmental regulations and proposing necessary changes
  • Verifying vessel compliance with environmental regulations and recommending corrective actions
  • Providing guidance on environmental management systems-related queries
  • Distributing fleet circulars and managerial instructions to vessels
  • Advising on EMS manual amendments and revisions
  • Reviewing EMS records from ships and suggesting corrections as needed
  • Conducting internal audits on ships and ensuring effective corrective actions
  • Analyzing PSC, FSI, SIRE, and other inspection reports and suggesting improvements
  • Tracking KPIs for the department
  • Organizing multilevel training for ship and shore staff in conjunction with the training center
  • Supplying VECP gear to vessels
  • Verifying monthly seal logs, MARPOL reports, and ORB entries
  • Reviewing quarterly environmental data for the fleet
  • Assessing current energy management practices and recommending efficient technologies or procedures
  • Providing pre-joining briefings to senior officers regarding EMS
Required Skills and Qualifications:
