Import Operations Manager

We are seeking a seasoned Import Operations Manager to lead and manage our import ocean freight operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pricing Strategy Development: Develop pricing strategies, negotiate rates with carriers, and maintain strong relationships with shipping lines, co-loaders, and overseas agents.
  • Import Logistics Coordination: Oversee pre-alerts, booking coordination, documentation, customs compliance, and end-to-end import shipment handling.
  • Cargo Clearance: Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely cargo clearance and delivery.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local and international import regulations, customs laws, and trade compliance requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement SOPs to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and turnaround time for import processes.
  • Team Management: Manage and mentor the import operations team – allocate resources, set KPIs, monitor performance, and provide ongoing training.
  • Cost Control: Monitor departmental P&L, ensure cost control, and prepare regular budgets.
  • Business Development: Collaborate with the sales and business development teams to identify new opportunities and grow the import customer base.
  • Customer Service: Maintain high standards of customer service, promptly resolving issues and ensuring consistent client satisfaction.
  • MIS Reporting: Generate regular MIS/reports for senior management on import operations, cost efficiency, and process improvements.
