Job Title: Import Executive

About the Role:
  • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Import Executive to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling all import-related tasks, ensuring seamless operations and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Document Preparation: Prepare and maintain accurate documentation for imports, including export invoices, packing lists, and Bills of Lading (BL).
  • Insurance Management: Generate insurance certificates through online portals and ensure sufficient insured amount balances are maintained.
  • Hazardous Cargo Handling: Handle hazardous cargo, understanding Haz Classes, Packing Groups, and prepare Dangerous Goods Declarations (DGD).
  • Candidate must have excellent communication and coordination skills to work with factories, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customers.
  • Negotiate air or sea freight rates with forwarding agents, shipping lines, or Customs House Agents.
  • Review and approve Shipping Bill Checklists, Bill of Entry Checklists, Airway Bills Drafts, BL Drafts, etc.
  • Coordinate vessel or flight bookings with freight forwarders.
  • Arrange courier shipments via DHL/FedEx.
  • Familiarity with Letter of Credit (LC) Shipments is a plus.
  • Ensure regular review and understanding of SCOMET and Narcotics requirements for every shipment.
  • Resolve queries from export customers promptly and efficiently.
  • Manage FCL shipments and factory stuffing arrangements.
  • Apply for Preferential & Non-preferential Certificates of Origin online.
  • Ability to handle multiple shipments at a time efficiently.
  • Send final shipment documents to customers and track cargo till delivery.
  • Maintain accurate records for all export shipments, including up-to-date status of EGM and RODTEP benefit.
  • Knowledge of RODTEP Scrip generation and other DGFT/ICEGATE applications.
  • Arrange relevant packing considering nature of shipments, especially for dangerous goods.
  • Compliance with import/export regulations, including HS codes, tariffs, and taxes.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including import data and compliance documents.
  • Collaborate with logistics, finance, and procurement teams for alignment and efficiency.
  • Stay updated on changes in import/export regulations and company policies.
