Job Overview

This is a key position for a senior SCADA engineer to lead the design and deployment of Ignition SCADA applications across manufacturing operations. The role involves architecting and implementing real-time data acquisition, visualization, and reporting solutions, ensuring seamless integration with enterprise IT systems and cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deploy Ignition SCADA applications in large-scale manufacturing environments.
  • Develop and implement secure and efficient data exchange using REST APIs, MQTT, and OPC UA protocols.
  • Manage industrial databases, SQL historian, and timeseries databases for high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to align system capabilities with production and business needs.
  • Provide technical leadership in digital transformation initiatives such as Industry 4.0 smart manufacturing and predictive analytics.
  • Troubleshoot, optimize, and support existing SCADA deployments to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing across the engineering team.

Requirements:

  • At least 410 years of experience in SCADA/MES engineering within the manufacturing industry.
  • Proven expertise with Ignition SCADA, Inductive Automation, including scripting module configuration and project deployment.
  • Strong background in MES functions, production tracking, OEE, downtime analysis, traceability, SPC, etc.
  • Proficiency with database technologies: SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience with OT/IT integration technologies.
  • REST APIs for system interconnectivity.
  • MQTT for IIoT messaging and lightweight communication.
  • OPC UA for industrial interoperability.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems, PLC, SCADA, HMIs, and plant floor connectivity.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing standards: ISA95, ISA88, ISA99, IEC 62443.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience with cloud-based IIoT platforms: Azure IoT, AWS IoT, etc.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in OT environments.
  • Familiarity with containerization: Docker, Kubernetes for SCADA/MES deployments.
  • Experience in working on large-scale digital transformation Industry 4.0 projects.
  • Certifications: Ignition Gold Certified Specialist, OPC UA, or relevant industrial IT/OT certifications.
