As a seasoned professional in anti-money laundering (AML), you will lead the charge to safeguard our customers and the bank.

  • You will oversee the strategy of your function, fostering a culture of risk management and continuous improvement.

We are looking for someone with expertise in AML, customer due diligence, and people management. You will drive business outcomes by optimizing capacity, managing risk, and developing an environment of continuous improvement.

This is a high-profile role that offers significant exposure to key stakeholders across the bank.

Key aspects of this role include:

  • Ensuring risk decisions are made through assurance reviews and are compliant with relevant policies and standards.
  • Optimizing resource use, reducing costs, and increasing productivity while minimizing operational losses and errors.
  • Executing training and accreditation plans to ensure teams are equipped to perform at their best.
  • Supporting team performance through coaching, training, and knowledge sharing.
  • Leading the definition and oversight of key performance indicators to maintain strong matrices.
  • Providing regular reports and action plans to address identified risk areas.
  • Enhancing the risk culture, focusing on proactive end-to-end risk management, and improving the control environment.

Requirements:

  • Experience working in a financial crime or AML environment.
  • Strong knowledge of related policies and procedures.
  • Understanding of reputational risk, consumer duty risk, and ESE is desirable but not essential.
  • Background in people management with an understanding of people processes and policies.
  • Awareness of financial services with previous management experience in a leadership role.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to respond to ambiguity and challenge positively.
  • Capacity to lead through change, simplify processes, and deliver strategic value.
  • Thorough understanding of banking products, processes, and systems.
  • Knowledge and experience of financial crime, risk management, compliance, and legal issues in different jurisdictions.
  • Understanding of the industry and our customers.
