Operational Risk Manager

- Lead and manage independent projects across a wide range of operational risk management areas such as internal control assessments, developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies, third-party risk management, incident management and reporting, loss data, and business continuity for financial institutions.
- Prepare detailed project plans to ensure timely delivery
- Review, verify, and validate existing frameworks, policies, procedures, and risk and control matrices for theoretical soundness, testing design, and identification of control weaknesses, ensuring ongoing monitoring, and contribute to the firm-wide risk and control self-assessment (RCSA) exercise.
- Identify changes to the risk profile and consider its impact on the risk heat map.
- Meet business needs and regulatory expectations by assessing key aspects of each area under review: assessment approach, underlying assumptions, and associated limitations with respect to risk rating and control scores, development of the framework, etc.
- Demonstrate independence in planning and stakeholder engagement, testing design and execution, results interpretation, and presentation, and produce documentation strong enough to evidence a sound challenge to both internal and external parties.
- Engage proactively with clients' process owners and risk departments to ensure timely completion and finalization of projects.
- Provide regular updates on project execution and quality reviews.
- Highlight findings that warrant discussions with Risk Management Committees.
- Demonstrate value provided to clients by developing and presenting risk dashboards and risk analytics on key items.
- The global scope of operational risk requires working with a broad group of stakeholders from various parts of the firm, investigating operational risk, and undertaking detailed risk and control self-assessment (RCSA), defining key risk indicators (KRIs), undertaking KRI monitoring, establishing and linking it to loss data and incident reporting workflows.
- Have a deep understanding of global and Indian frameworks, methodologies, and standards on process risk and controls, along with associated compliance requirements.
- Understand the financial services industry, businesses, regulators, and their roles.
- Responsible for proposal preparation, pitch decks, client meetings, and thought leadership documents across various operational risk management (ORM) related areas.
- Problem-solving skills including conceptual and analytical thinking.
- Lead and be responsible for team building, mentoring, and project management.
- Manage stakeholders in a project and project management.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
As a Principal/Project Director-ORM, you will have the opportunity to lead and manage independent projects across a wide range of operational risk management areas.
