Job Title: Academic Mentor

We are seeking a dedicated Academic Mentor to support students in achieving their full potential.

This role involves guiding and mentoring students through their academic journey, fostering student success, building positive relationships, and working closely with parents and educators.

About the Role:

The Academic Mentor will play a crucial role in shaping the educational experience of students. You will serve as a mentor, motivator, and guide, tracking academic progress, maintaining strong relationships with students and parents, and helping create a supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Foster Student Growth: Build positive, trusting relationships with students, offering guidance and support to help them excel academically and personally.
  • Organize Student Activities: Organize and lead student activities, clubs, and programs that encourage both academic and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with Educators: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and counselors to address student concerns, resolve conflicts, and provide necessary interventions.
  • Monitor Progress: Monitor student academic progress, identify challenges, and provide necessary interventions to improve learning outcomes.
  • Evaluate Student Understanding: Conduct continuous assessments and evaluations to track student understanding of the curriculum.
  • Develop Academic Plans: Work closely with teachers and counselors to develop customized academic plans for students requiring additional support.
  • Communicate with Parents: Maintain regular communication with parents/guardians to keep them updated on their child's academic and personal development.
  • Attend Parent Meetings: Organize and participate in parent meetings and conferences to discuss student progress, challenges, and goals.
  • Address Parent Concerns: Address parental concerns, provide guidance, and suggest ways they can support their child's education at home.
  • Maintain Records: Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, assessments, and behavioral observations.
  • Data Analysis: Prepare reports and conduct data analysis on student performance and development for internal use and communication with parents and school leadership.
  • Utilize Educational Software: Utilize Management Information Systems (MIS) and other educational software for efficient data tracking and reporting.
