Senior Equipment Engineer Position

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Equipment Engineer.

  • The role involves analyzing and commenting on customer specifications, writing clarifications and seeking amendments to ensure that the requirements are met.
  • Responsibilities also include preparing technical and commercial bidding documents for high voltage equipment, providing technical support to sales and project management teams, and taking care of the technical responsibility of designing and standardizing High Voltage equipment for HVDC and Grid Access projects with regard to design to cost.
  • Additionally, you will be responsible for writing equipment specifications, verifying test plans, and optimizing the design of equipment under consideration of the HVDC-system specific requirements.
  • Further tasks include checking and approving drawings, bills of material, and other documentation, as well as ensuring timely and cost-effective management of components to be processed.
  • You will also be responsible for coordinating acceptance tests, participating in tests, and providing customer support, while assuring test documentation in accordance with customer requirements.
  • Other responsibilities include evaluating proposals from sub-suppliers, supporting in commercial evaluation with procurement, and providing technical support in finding the most suitable technical solution and qualified sub-suppliers.
  • Lastly, you will be responsible for negotiating contracts with suppliers and providing technical support for procurement, as well as managing orders of HVDC high-voltage components.

Requirements:

  • 5-9 years of experience in High Voltage engineering or similar field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable.

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Experience with HV measuring components, HV transmission transformers, HV switchgear, HV Reactors/Resistors/Capacitors.
  • Understanding of HVDC and/or FACTS technologies.
  • Knowledge about Testing Techniques of HV components.
  • Experience in understanding and managing complex customer specifications.
  • Knowledge of applicable norms and standards.
  • Experience in tendering or execution of large turnkey projects.
