Certificate Management Strategist

Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Certificate Management Strategist to lead the design, implementation, and automation of enterprise-grade certificate management environments. This role demands deep technical expertise in certificate architecture and lifecycle management, along with strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively across teams and stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of cryptographic protocols (TLS/SSL, S/MIME, Code Signing) and experience with cloud-native certificate solutions and integrations. Additionally, they will be proficient with automation tools like Venafi, AppViewX, DigiCert, or Keyfactor.

Key Responsibilities:
  • PKI Design & Implementation: Architect and deploy secure, scalable PKI infrastructure including Root and Subordinate CAs, CRLs, OCSP responders, and HSMs.
  • Certificate Lifecycle Management: Manage full lifecycle of digital certificates: issuance, renewal, revocation, and expiration.
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure PKI systems adhere to internal security policies and external standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
  • Support & Troubleshooting: Serve as the highest level of escalation for PKI-related incidents.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Technical Expertise: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in PKI and certificate management.
  • Automation Tools: Proficiency with tools like Venafi, AppViewX, DigiCert, or Keyfactor.
  • Cryptographic Protocols: Strong understanding of TLS/SSL, S/MIME, and Code Signing protocols.
  • Cloud-Native Solutions: Experience with cloud-native certificate solutions and integrations.
