Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Database Consultant to join our team. As a key member of our database team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the optimal performance and efficiency of our Oracle databases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Database Administration: You will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle databases across development, testing, and production environments to ensure high availability and disaster recovery through backup and recovery strategies (RMAN, Data Guard, etc.).
  • Performance Tuning: Your primary responsibility will be to monitor database performance and perform tuning for optimal efficiency.
  • Security and Compliance: You will implement security policies and procedures to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Documentation and Collaboration: You will create and maintain database documentation, including procedures, standards, and diagrams, and collaborate with development, infrastructure, and application support teams.
  • Health Checks and Capacity Planning: You will conduct health checks and proactively identify performance and capacity issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Database professional is required. Proficiency in Oracle versions 11g, 12c, and above is necessary.
  • Skills: Strong skills in performance tuning, database optimization, and query tuning are essential. Experience with Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) is also required. A solid understanding of PL/SQL and scripting (Shell, Python, etc.) is necessary. Working knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems is also required.
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification is a plus.
