Main Responsibilities

Strategic Focus:

  • Contribute to the development of first-line risk frameworks, aligning with enterprise standards.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives like system implementations and regulatory efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with risk governance standards, promoting a strong risk culture.

Operational Management:

  • Support the execution of risk and control self-assessments.
  • Coordinate issue monitoring and remediation across risk domains.
  • Manage risk-related documentation, including policies and procedures.
  • Perform and document control tests.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards for transparency.
  • Continuously improve controls and methodologies.
  • Utilize project management skills to track progress and direct team efforts.

People Leadership:

  • Engage stakeholders through internal collaboration and effective communication.
  • Foster teamwork and performance.
  • Demonstrate leadership in team settings.

Governance & Risk:

  • Comply with internal and external standards.
  • Experience in operational risk management, especially in information/technology risk.
  • Familiarity with industry frameworks such as NIST, FFIEC, COBIT, ISO27002, and OWASP.
  • Identify and escalate control deficiencies.
Experience & Personal Attributes

Qualifications:

  • Educational and professional qualifications include a Chartered Accountant or Master's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or Finance.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in operational risk management within the financial services industry.
  • Desirable: Experience in the Second Line of Defense (SLoD).
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and experience in financial services, preferably in fund services.
  • Ability to demonstrate detailed knowledge of various operational risk types and internal control principles.
  • Project management skills to track project progress and direct team efforts.
