Network Engineer L1 Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer L1 to join our team. As a key member of our network operations team, you will be responsible for monitoring and reporting alerts from network devices.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and report alerts from network devices.
  • Work on raised and assigned tickets/alerts from the ITSM tool: identify the fault, assign severity, follow troubleshooting procedures, ensure timely closure of alerts/tickets.
  • Handle fault management with service providers for network-related issues: initiate trouble tickets, follow up until resolution, escalate if required.
  • Coordinate with L2 engineers for issue resolution and change management.
  • Perform network-related changes on network devices as per role and accessibility defined in SOP.
  • Prepare and maintain network-related reports such as branch down call report, bandwidth utilization report.
  • Monitor and manage the Bank's network infrastructure (devices, links, etc.).
  • Provide escalation support for L1 (Zonal Engineers); escalate issues to L2/L3 engineers if not resolved.
  • Receive calls from branches, raise tickets (if not already available in the system), and share the ticket number.
  • Add new network devices into the network and ensure they are recorded in the asset management system.
  • Follow up with engineers at Zonal Offices/Field teams to restore network uptime (links and devices).
  • Follow up for RMA replacements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network operations and a solid understanding of networking protocols and technologies. They will also possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Valid CCNA / JNCIA / CCNP Routing and Switching / Security.
  • OEM valid intermediate-level SD-WAN certification.
  • Postgraduate / Graduate / Diploma qualification.
  • Experience in handling network operations for 3+ years.
