Job Title

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to take on the role of System Administrator.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in MySQL Database Administration, query optimization, script optimization, and performance monitoring.

  • Design and create database objects such as data table structures, stored procedures, views, Triggers, reports, Database Administration, Configuration, Maintenance and Support.
  • Data migration, backup, restore & recovery, Resolving performance issues, blocking and deadlocks.
  • Implement and Monitor 2-Node Active/Passive SQL Clustering to provide High Availability for mission critical events, database mirroring, replication and log shipping.
  • Implement and maintain security and integrity controls including backup and disaster recovery strategies for document management system and MySQL databases.
Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Conducting research and making recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts.
  • Coordinating and working with other technical staff to develop relational databases and secondary databases, identifying inefficiencies in current databases and investigating solutions.
  • Diagnosing and resolving database access and security issues.
  • Planning and executing data migrations between different database systems.
  • Developing, implementing, and maintaining change control and testing processes for modifications to databases. Ensuring all database systems meet business and performance requirements.
  • Creating and scheduling Jobs in MySQL, ETL, deploying SQL patches, performing Data Migration Activity.
  • Coordination with respective OEMs/Vendors.
  • Unix shell scripting and the ability to automate routine tasks.
  • Understanding of MySQL's underlying storage engines, such as InnoDB and MyISAM.
  • Proficient in writing and optimizing SQL statements.
  • Experience with replication configuration in MySQL.
