Instructional Content Developer

We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our team as an Instructional Content Developer. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in conceptualizing learning materials after engaging with stakeholders to understand business requirements.

Your primary focus will be on ensuring that the learning content can be customized for scale and advising on new ways of designing the learning content.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey information to learners, and a strong understanding of instructional theory, including assessment.

In addition to these essential qualifications, we are looking for someone who can work independently and in a team, prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous deadlines, and remain up-to-date on best practices in instructional design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and transfer
  • Visualize instructional graphics, the user interface, and the finished product
  • Develop and design courses and modules, including self-paced learning materials
  • Write scripts for video and audio content
  • Design learning activities that enhance the learning efficacy and experience
  • Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games etc)
  • Determine the criteria used to judge learner's performance and develop assessment instruments
  • Suggest new digital tools to enable better facilitation, enhance learner experience, and facilitate enhanced metrics reporting
  • Conduct instructional research and analysis on learners and contexts
  • Maintain project documentation and course folders
  • Remain updated on best practices in instructional design

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS)
  • Strong project management and organization skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of instructional theory, including assessment
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous deadlines
  • Can work independently and in a team
  • Experience with design platforms, visual design skills, and ability to storyboard
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio scripts/video scripts
  • Degree in instructional design, educational technology or similar
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience
