With operations across India, UAE, Singapore, and now expanding to the US and beyond, we aim to provide access to affordable and stylish eyewear globally.Role Overview:We are looking for an accomplished leader who has a proven track record working with a top-tier consulting firm, combined with practical experience in ecommerce or retail businesses. The ideal candidate will have managed category or merchandising operations, demonstrating an ability to develop and execute merchandise strategies in fast-paced, data-driven environments.Key Requirements:Prior experience in consulting would be ideal. Significant experience in ecommerce or retail, with direct responsibility for category management or merchandising.Proven ability to drive merchandise / category planning, pricing, and product mix decisions based on customer insights and business analytics.Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, especially with product, marketing, tech, and design teams.Key Responsibilities:Strategy & VisionDefine and execute a global merchandising strategy across online and offline channels.Drive assortment planning in alignment with regional tastes, trends, and market demands.Collaborate with product, marketing, tech, and design teams to deliver a consistent, localized, and elevated customer experience.Assortment & BuyingOptimize product mix based on customer insights, sales data, and market trends.Lead buying decisions for private labels, third-party brands, and collaborations.Ensure innovation in categories (e.g., smart eyewear, kids, blue-light, etc.).Pricing & PromotionsDevelop pricing architecture for all geographies to balance margin and competitiveness.Work with finance and marketing on seasonal and tactical promotional plans.Inventory & Demand PlanningForecast demand and manage OTB (Open to Buy) plans effectively.Partner with the supply chain to ensure timely replenishment, inventory turns, and freshness.Drive markdown strategies and optimize sell-through rates.Retail MerchandisingDefine and standardize in-store visual merchandising guidelines across geographies.Collaborate with retail design, marketing, and regional teams to ensure brand consistency.Use customer journey data and store analytics to enhance layout and display impact.Global ExpansionUnderstand regional differences in customer behavior and eyewear trends.Customize merchandising plans for international markets while maintaining brand DNA.Identify whitespace opportunities in new markets and propose entry assortments.Analytics & InsightsLeverage data and analytics to optimize assortment, pricing, and space planning.Drive merchandising KPIs: GMROI, inventory turn, sell-through, markdown %, etc.Leadership & CollaborationBuild and mentor a high-performing, globally distributed merchandising team.Work cross-functionally with Design, Tech, Brand, CX, Retail Ops, and Supply Chain.Serve as a thought partner to C-level leadership on product strategy and growth levers.
