Director of People Job DescriptionWe are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Director of People to lead our team in scaling from 10 to 100 employees. This is a critical role that requires someone who can design and implement scalable HR infrastructure, manage stress and burnout, and ensure the overall wellbeing of our remote workforce.Key Responsibilities:The successful candidate will be responsible for:Designing and implementing scalable HR infrastructure that supports a fully remote, distributed workforce;Leading aggressive but quality-focused hiring sprints;Defining our "bar" for talent and ensuring our remote onboarding process makes new hires feel connected from Day 1;Wellbeing Management:The ideal candidate will have experience in managing wellbeing in a remote environment, including:Implementing early warning systems to spot signs of burnout before they become crises;Auditing workloads with leadership to push back on unrealistic deadlines if they threaten the team's long-term health;Championing asynchronous work practices that respect time zones and allow deep work without the pressure of instant responsiveness;What We Are Looking For:A proven track record of scaling a startup from roughly 10 to 100 headcount;Experience managing HR for a fully remote or distributed team;Passion for using AI to make your job more strategic;Comfortable navigating the emotional highs and lows of startup life;Specific experience handling delicate employee relations issues, including burnout, performance improvement plans (PIPs), and terminations, with dignity and professionalism.Requirements:To be successful in this role, you will need:Strong leadership and interpersonal skills;Ability to navigate complex emotional situations;Excellent communication and problem-solving skills;Proven experience in HR management and staff development;Familiarity with AI and automation tools.Benefits:Competitive salary and benefits package;Opportunity to work with a cutting-edge technology company;Possible relocation to our headquarters or other locations worldwide;Professional development opportunities through training and mentorship programs.
