Job Title: Senior E-commerce UI Developer This is a senior position for an experienced E-commerce UI developer to join our team and contribute their skills to designing and developing high-quality user interfaces for Shopify POS. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and experience working with Shopify Admin APIs (REST & GraphQL), App Bridge, and Liquid templating.We are looking for someone who can work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, prioritizing tasks effectively and managing multiple projects simultaneously. A strong understanding of software development principles, including design patterns, coding standards, and testing methodologies, is essential for this role. Additionally, the ability to communicate complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders is crucial. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and lead delivery of Shopify POS UI Extensions across multiple retail use cases. Build modern POS experiences using React, TypeScript, and native POS UI Extension components. Upgrade and migrate older POS UI extension versions to the newest APIs & components, handling breaking changes and rollout strategy. Integrate with Shopify Admin APIs (GraphQL/REST), Webhooks, App Bridge, and optional Remix/Node.js services. Configure and optimize Smart Grid layouts based on store, location, or role requirements. Collaborate with Shopify Plus Support for issue resolution and assess impact of ongoing platform releases. Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines for build, test, and deployment via the Shopify Partners Dashboard. Support multi-environment workflows (dev/QA/stage/prod) with feature flags and rollback strategies. Maintain a high level of quality in all aspects of development, adhering to best practices and ensuring code readability, maintainability, and scalability. Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and supporting the growth of junior developers. Stay up-to-date with the latest Shopify APIs, features, and industry trends, applying this knowledge to improve existing solutions and propose new ones. Qualifications and RequirementsMandatory Requirements: 8+ years overall IT experience. 3+ years direct experience in Shopify POS / E-commerce for large retail organizations (>$500M revenue). 3–5 years hands-on experience with: Shopify POS UI Extensions Shopify App Bridge Shopify Admin APIs (REST & GraphQL) Advanced skills in React, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3. Knowledge of Liquid templating and Shopify Polaris for Admin UI development Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to break down complex problems into manageable parts. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working with cross-functional teams. Possess a passion for learning, staying up-to-date with industry trends, and sharing knowledge with others. As a successful candidate, you will possess excellent problem-solving skills, a strong understanding of software development principles, and the ability to communicate complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
