Overhead Door Global Capability Center | Technical Writer

Position Description
To provide technical publication support to product development projects within Product Applications Engineering that include:
- Technical document publication
- Current product technical publication support
- Marketing collateral technical support
- Technical publication changes
Specifics include, and are not limited to, document layout, technical writing, and document changes.
Required Skills
The preferred candidate will possess the following (minimum) skill sets:
- Excellent writing skills
- Technical publication development (Adobe Creative Suite; or equivalent) - advanced
- AutoCAD, Draftsight, or other 2D drawing package
- SolidWorks or equivalent - advanced
- Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing - advanced
- Technical depictions/sketches
- Technical communication (MSExcel/MSWord/MSPowerpoint/MSOutlook)
Experience with these tools will be needed in the Technical Writer candidates:
- Adobe InDesign
- Solidworks
- Solidworks Composer
Experience with the two programs would be an extra advantage:
- Typefi
- AutoCAD
Qualifications
The preferred candidate will possess the following (minimum) qualifications:
- 1-5 years technical publications experience
- Associate’s degree in a technical field
