Role Overview:The AVP Business Development- New Business will play a crucial role in expanding Optiminastic’s client base and driving revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities. This position requires a highly motivated and proactive individual with strong industry connections, a passion for digital marketing, and a proven track record in securing business mandates. You will lead the charge in building and managing a business development team, develop long-term client relationships, and contribute to the agency’s overall growth objectives.
What we are looking for:Key Responsibilities:● Business Development & Revenue Generation:○ Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the digital marketing ecosystem (Social Media, SEO, Performance Marketing, etc.).○ Build and execute a strategic plan to meet and exceed revenue targets.○ Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, decision-makers, and influencers in target companies and agencies to drive business growth.● Industry Networking & Client Acquisition:○ Leverage personal and professional networks to secure new mandates for the company.○ Stay up-to-date with market trends, competitor activity, and industry best practices to identify potential clients and opportunities for growth.○ Attend and represent Optiminastic at industry events, conferences, exhibitions and networking meetings to generate leads.● Client Relationship Management:○ Build long-term partnerships with new clients by understanding their needs and providing tailored digital marketing solutions.○ Lead client pitches, presentations, and negotiations to close deals and ensure smooth onboarding of new clients.● Team Leadership & Collaboration:○ Build, manage, and mentor, high-performing Business Development team.○ Collaborate closely with internal teams (marketing, creative, operations) to develop customised proposals and solutions that align with client requirements.● Strategic Planning & Execution:○ Develop and execute new business strategies, including lead generation, client prospecting, and relationship management.○ Create and manage the sales pipeline, tracking leads, opportunities, and performance metrics to report to senior leadership.○ Prepare and present quarterly business development plans and forecasts.● Adaptability & Problem-Solving:○ Maintain a proactive attitude towards challenges and work with a solution-oriented mindset.○ Remain adaptable in the fast-paced digital marketing environment, finding ways to optimise processes and client interactions.
Key Qualifications & Skills:● Experience:○ Minimum 5 years of Business Development experience in the digital marketing industry.○ Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and securing new client business.○ Strong understanding of digital marketing services, including Social Media, SEO and Performance Marketing.● Industry Connections:○ Established network within the digital marketing industry and agencies, with a solid understanding of the market landscape.● Leadership & Team Building:○ Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and motivate a business development team.● Communication & Negotiation:○ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building strong client relationships.○ Strong negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to close deals effectively.● Proactive & Goal-Oriented:○ Self-motivated and results-driven, with a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.○ Ability to adapt to new challenges and work under pressure to meet business objectives.
