Position Overview

The Automation QA Lead will be responsible for guiding a team of QA engineers in designing, developing, and executing automated tests for telecom software solutions. The ideal candidate will have 5–8 years of overall experience in software quality assurance, including at least 3 years of expert-level hands-on automation scripting with TypeScript using Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright. Experience with API testing, Postman, Appium, and a solid background in telecom environments is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of QA automation engineers to drive high-quality delivery through the full software development lifecycle.
• Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts using TypeScript with Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright frameworks.
• Collaborate with development, product, and business teams to clarify requirements and define effective test strategies for telecom applications.
• Design and implement comprehensive API test suites utilizing tools such as Postman.
• Lead mobile test automation efforts using Appium, ensuring cross-platform coverage for Android and iOS devices.
• Review, analyze, and report test results; ensure defects are documented, tracked, and resolved in a timely manner.
• Advocate for test automation best practices, code quality, and maintainability within the organization.
• Continuously improve automation frameworks and introduce new tools/processes as needed.
• Stay updated on telecom industry trends and emerging QA technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 5–8 years of hands-on QA experience, with a minimum of 3 years focused on automation using TypeScript and Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Strong background and hands-on experience in the telecom domain.
• Experience with API automation testing and tools, specifically Postman.
• Proficiency in mobile automation frameworks, specifically Appium.
• Solid understanding of QA methodologies, frameworks, and SDLC processes.
• Excellent analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with CI/CD tools and integrating automation into pipelines.
• Knowledge of performance and security testing tools.
• Familiarity with cloud-based test environments.
• ISTQB or equivalent QA certifications.
