We are seeking an experienced Vice President – Solar, who will work as a Profit Center Head for Solar – EPC project. The Profit Center Head for a Solar EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) Project will be responsible for managing the overall operations, profitability, and growth of the business unit. This leadership role involves strategic planning, business development, project execution, financial management, and team leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality solar projects while achieving profitability and sustainability goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Business Strategy & Development
· Develop and execute the business strategy to achieve the profit center's goals and objectives.
· Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and market segments for Solar EPC projects.
· Build relationships with clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders to enhance business opportunities.
Financial Management
· Drive profitability by monitoring budgets, cost controls, and revenue generation.
· Prepare and manage annual financial plans, forecasts, and reports.
· Oversee pricing, cost estimation, and contract negotiations to ensure financial viability.
Project Management
· Oversee the execution of solar EPC projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, and compliance with safety regulations.
· Monitor project milestones and resolve any challenges to ensure successful completion.
· Manage vendor relationships and procurement processes for optimal resource utilization.
Leadership & Team Management
· Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of engineers, project managers, and support staff.
· Foster a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
· Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and encourage professional development.
Regulatory Compliance
· Ensure compliance with local, state, and national regulations related to solar projects and environmental standards.
· Stay updated on industry trends, policies, and technological advancements.
Reporting & Communication
Provide regular updates to the executive team on business performance, project status, and market conditions.
Act as the spokesperson for the profit centre in external forums, conferences, and stakeholder meetings.
Desired Profile:
· Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in engineering (preferably Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil); MBA is a plus.
· Experience: 12+ years of experience in the renewable energy or power sector, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing Solar EPC projects.
· Industry Knowledge: Proven track record of successfully managing business units and delivering profitable projects.
· Strong knowledge of Solar PV systems, EPC processes, and regulatory frameworks in the renewable energy sector.
