Critical Skills & Personal Attributes:

  • Expertise in MasterCAM software for 3 to 5-axis milling operations.
  • Good knowledge of milling processes, cutting tools, feeds and speeds, G & M code and VMC, HMC, 5 axes machine capabilities
  • Solid knowledge of engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Problem solving skills to sort out machining & programming issues, optimize tool path and reduce cycle times.
  • Communicate effectively with machinists, production team for manufacturing requirements
  • Team oriented attitude and flexible with time.

Main responsibility :

  • Generate offline program for milling operations using MasterCAM software based on 3D model & engineering drawings. (For VMC, HMC & 5 axes machines)
  • Simulate and verify toolpaths to prevent collisions before program issuing to shop floor
  • Documentation such as creation of tool cards (set up sheets), tooling lists and operation instructions for machinists. And maintain a library of CNC programs, setup sheets, and related documents on server.
  • Assist VMC, HMC machinists during set up & prove-out phases. Also, should always be ready to make programming adjustments when needed.
  • Ensure that all machining programs meet quality requirements such as dimensional and surface finish requirements.
