Location: Bengaluru, India (On-site) Experience Level: 1–3 years Department: Chairman's Office About the Role Sun Mobility seeks a Battery Innovation Engineer to drive cutting-edge battery technology initiatives within our Chairman's Office. This role focuses on developing innovative solutions across battery lifecycle management including recycling, second-life applications, advanced battery management systems, and thermal management technologies that will shape the future of sustainable mobility. Key Responsibilities Battery Technology Innovation Execute innovative R&D projects focused on next-generation battery technologies and applications Lead battery recycling research and development projects to optimize material recovery and circular economy initiatives Design and implement second-life battery applications for stationary energy storage and grid integration Conduct battery testing protocols and performance validation across various operating conditions Research & Development Develop proof-of-concept prototypes for new battery technologies and system integrations Research and analyse emerging battery chemistries and their potential applications in mobility solutions Support intellectual property development through patent research and technical documentation Optimize battery pack design for 2nd life vehicle and stationary applications Conduct lifecycle assessments of battery systems from manufacturing to end-of-life management Prepare technical reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders Required Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field 1–3 years experience in battery technology, energy storage systems, or automotive engineering Experience with battery testing, BMS development, or thermal management systems preferred EV/Energy storage industry exposure preferred Technical Expertise Battery technology fundamentals including lithium-ion, solid-state, and emerging chemistries Thermal management systems including cooling strategies, heat exchangers, and HVAC design Testing equipment operation (battery analyzers, thermal chambers, oscilloscopes) Simulation software experience (MATLAB/Simulink, ANSYS, COMSOL, or similar) CAD software proficiency for mechanical design and system integration Data analysis skills using Python, MATLAB, or similar tools Core Competencies Innovation mindset with passion for developing breakthrough battery technologies Problem-solving abilities for complex technical challenges in battery systems Project management skills to lead R&D initiatives from concept to implementation Cross-functional collaboration with ability to work across engineering disciplines Technical communication to present complex concepts to diverse audiences Continuous learning attitude toward emerging battery technologies and industry trends What We Offer Opportunity to work on cutting-edge battery innovation projects Access to state-of-the-art testing facilities and R&D infrastructure Collaboration with leading battery technology researchers and industry experts Platform to shape the future of sustainable energy storage solutions Professional development in the rapidly evolving battery technology landscape
