Job Title: Manager – Product Development and Technology (Solar Modules)
Job Summary:
We are looking for a dynamic and innovative Product Development Manager to lead the design, development, and advancement of solar modules. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background and a proven track record in driving technology innovation, product optimization, and cross-functional collaboration. This role bridges market needs with technical execution, supporting our leadership in solar module technology.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Product Development & Innovation
- Lead end-to-end product development, translating customer and market requirements into product specifications.
- Coordinate with R&D teams on prototype design, performance evaluation, and validation.
- Ensure new products meet cost, quality, performance, and reliability goals.
- Drive design improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
2. Module Technology & Roadmap
- Evaluate and adopt emerging solar cell and module technologies
- Monitor industry trends, innovations in materials, and advanced manufacturing techniques.
- Benchmark competitor products and provide insights to shape the company’s technology roadmap.
- Interface with material and equipment suppliers to assess and implement technological upgrades.
3. Cross-Functional & Technical Collaboration
- Work closely with R&D, Quality, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Certification teams to ensure product readiness and compliance.
- Provide technical documentation and support to compliance and certification teams.
- Facilitate pilot production runs and successful transition to mass production.
4. Market Interface & Technical Support
- Gather market intelligence and customer feedback to guide product development.
- Support technical sales efforts by delivering product knowledge, presentations, and training to commercial teams and customers.
5. Testing, Reliability & Qualification
- Define and oversee reliability testing protocols for new product configurations.
- Approve Bills of Materials (BOM) for new module types.
- Ensure long-term durability and field performance through robust validation and testing procedures.
- Collaborate with certification bodies for product qualification and documentation.
6. Continuous Improvement & Team Leadership
- Lead initiatives for product and process optimization.
- Mentor and manage a high-performing product development team.
- Foster a culture of innovation, agility, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in solar module engineering, product development, or technology innovation.
- Strong understanding of PV module materials, design, and manufacturing processes.
- Hands-on experience with reliability testing, BOM evaluation, and technology benchmarking.
- Proficient in managing product lifecycles from concept to commercialization.
- Excellent cross-functional leadership, project management, and communication skills.
- Familiarity with global certification standards and documentation protocols.
