Job Title:Master Database ArchitectWe are seeking an experienced and highly skilled database architect to lead our data team as we evolve our hybrid data platform spanning traditional RDBMS, search engines and emerging vector databases. You will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our organization's critical database systems, ensuring their reliability, security, and optimal performance.Lead the design, development, and implementation of database systems, ensuring they meet business requirements and adhere to industry best practices.Optimize database performance through tuning, indexing, and other techniques to ensure efficient data access and system response times.Implement and maintain data security measures, including access controls, data encryption, and regular security audits.Develop and maintain database backup and disaster recovery plans, ensuring the availability and integrity of our data assets.Monitor database systems for performance issues, proactively identifying and resolving problems to minimize downtime and maintain system reliability.Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and software developers to integrate database solutions with data pipelines, analytics platforms, and software applications.Mentor and guide junior database administrators, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of learning and collaboration within the team.Able to support embedding refresh workflows and vector aware governance and familiar with search engines and alternatives.Stay current on emerging database technologies, trends, and best practices, identifying opportunities for their application within our data infrastructure.Key Skills:Database design and developmentDatabase optimization and performance tuningData security and complianceBackup and disaster recovery planningDatabase monitoring and troubleshootingCollaboration with cross-functional teamsMentoring and training junior database administratorsBenefits:Opportunity to work on a cutting-edge data platformChance to collaborate with a talented team of data professionalsProfessional growth and development opportunitiesOther Responsibilities:Supporting the development of data-driven initiativesStaying up-to-date with emerging database technologiesContributing to the creation of knowledge base articles and documentation
