Job Description: As the Business Leader for our Middle East operations, you will be responsible for the overall management, strategic direction, and profitability of our conferences and exhibitions business in the region. This role requires a proactive, visionary leader with a deep understanding of the Middle Eastern market and significant experience in the conference and exhibition industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic business plans to grow the conferences and exhibitions division in the Middle East.
  • Manage the Profit & Loss (P&L) statements for the Middle East business, ensuring profitability and sustainable growth.
  • Lead market research efforts to identify new opportunities for conferences and exhibitions that cater to the needs of the regional market.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with industry stakeholders, partners, sponsors, and government entities in the Middle East.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and post-event analysis of all conferences and exhibitions to ensure they meet high-quality standards and achieve targeted outcomes.
  • Collaborate with marketing, sales, and operations teams to ensure cohesive and effective event promotion, participant engagement, and logistical support.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Middle East team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor competitors, market trends, and customer needs to adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with all local regulations and cultural norms in the execution of events.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven experience in managing and growing conferences and exhibitions, specifically in the Middle East.
  • Strong understanding of the Middle Eastern market dynamics and cultural nuances.
  • Proven track record of managing Profit & Loss (P&L) and driving business growth.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent networking and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Strategic thinker with outstanding organizational and project management skills.
  • Effective communicator, proficient in both English and Arabic (preferred).
  • Experience in the information business or relevant sectors will be considered an added advantage.
