Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly analytical and organized Demand Planner to join our team. The Demand Planner will play a crucial role in developing accurate demand forecasts, ensuring optimal inventory levels, and aligning supply with market demand. This role involves close collaboration with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to drive business success and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Forecasting & Demand Planning:
- Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts for products across various channels and regions.
- Analyze historical sales data, market trends, promotional plans, and other factors to ensure reliable demand projections.
- Adjust forecasts as needed to reflect changes in market conditions, product launches, or promotions.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure they align with demand forecasts to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
- Collaborate with the supply chain team to optimize inventory levels and minimize costs while maintaining service levels.
Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP):
- Participate in the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process, ensuring alignment between demand forecasts, production, and sales targets.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, supply chain) to synchronize demand with supply capabilities.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze demand patterns and performance metrics, identifying potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide regular reports and insights on forecast accuracy, demand variability, and inventory health to senior management.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to gather relevant information for demand planning, such as promotional activities, product lifecycle changes, and sales trends.
- Communicate forecast changes, risks, and recommendations effectively across teams.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Economics, or related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in demand planning, forecasting, or a related supply chain function.
- Experience in working with forecasting and demand planning tools and software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDA, etc.).
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of statistical forecasting techniques.
- Experience in the [industry sector] is a plus.
