Join us as a Development ManagerAs a Development Manager, you'll set the strategic direction of the team, supported by the senior technical membersYou'll take responsibility for the end-to-end delivery of strategic and tactical projects, delivering agreed business outcomes and coordinating various technology and change teams to achieve thisThis is an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to share their subject matter expertise and help shape the future direction of the functionWe are offering this role at director levelWhat you'll doWe'll look to you to be making sure that project deliverables can achieve customer goals, within a well-considered total cost of ownership, as well as making sure that the reputation of the bank is built, safeguarded, and kept foremost in the mind, while interacting with all stakeholders. You'll be responsible for building and supporting strong, high-performing teams, and designing and developing software products for the market risk and stress testing platform.You'll also be:Making sure that work done is aligned to the principles of software development across the bankUndertaking local line management duties, and instilling best practices for legacy and go-forward applicationsDelivering architectural and functional improvements that will have a positive impact on our technology estate and businessDriving and contributing to the technology strategy roadmapUnderstanding and incorporating requirements originating from the programmes in which the project team is involvedInfluencing delivery plans and coordinating delivery across multiple projects and deliverablesThe skills you'll needExperience in leading and managing development teams will be required, as will knowledge of the key phases of software delivery lifecycles and established software development methodologies. We'll also look for experience in driving change through to a successful conclusion and the ability to influence at all levels.Along with a good understanding of financial market products like FX, money market, repo, and derivatives, both OTC and ETD, you'll have had exposure to Google Cloud and migrating applications. You'll have strong knowledge of Java, REST API, microservices, Angular, React and SQL. You'll also bring:Good knowledge of technical architecture and the functionality of applications used to support the businessExperience of working in a dynamic environment often with shifting prioritiesPractical, working experience of Agile methodologies covering Scrum and SAFeThe ability to quickly understand and be familiar with complex systemsStrong knowledge of project finances and reportingExperience of delivering projects in geographically dispersed teamsHours45Job Posting Closing Date:02/11/2025
