Job Description: Node.js Developer (5+ years experience)

Position Title: Node.js Developer

Location: [Remote]

Job Type: Full-Time

Key Responsibilities:

  • Backend Development: Develop high-performance, scalable, and secure Node.js applications for various products and services.
  • API Development: Build and maintain RESTful and GraphQL APIs, ensuring efficient and reliable integration with front-end services and third-party systems.
  • System Architecture: Lead the design and implementation of the system architecture, focusing on scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Code Quality & Review: Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code while adhering to coding standards and best practices. Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers.
  • Database Management: Design and implement database solutions, working with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis).
  • Testing & Debugging: Create unit and integration tests to ensure code quality. Debug and optimize applications for performance and scalability.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including front-end developers, product managers, and QA engineers to ensure seamless product delivery.
  • CI/CD: Implement and maintain Continuous Integration and deployment pipelines for automated testing, integration, and release management.
  • Security Best Practices: Ensure the security of the applications by identifying vulnerabilities and enforcing secure coding practices.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation for code, processes, and system architectures.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience in backend development using Node.js, JavaScript, and related technologies.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Strong expertise in Node.js and JavaScript.
  • Deep understanding of asynchronous programming and the event-driven model.
  • Experience with RESTful API design, GraphQL, and WebSocket protocols.
  • Familiarity with microservices architecture and experience with Docker and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Strong knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL) such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, etc.
  • Proficiency in version control using Git and experience working with Git-based workflows.
  • Experience in working with cloud services (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and serverless architecture.
  • Strong understanding of authentication (JWT, OAuth, SSO) and security best practices.
  • Frameworks & Tools:
  • Familiarity with Express.js, NestJS, or similar Node.js frameworks.
  • Experience working with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar.
  • Proficiency in unit testing frameworks like Mocha, Chai, Jest, or similar.
  • Experience with GraphQL is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior developers.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on producing high-quality, scalable software solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Knowledge of modern front-end technologies (React, Angular, or Vue.js) is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
  • Familiarity with event-driven architectures, message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.), and serverless frameworks.
