Business Finance Manager

Who we are:

We are a start-up based out of Bengaluru . We are engaged in development of next generation missions and technologies (NGM&T) towards future warfare needs of the Indian defense forces. We are undertaking research towards enhancing persistence and autonomy for unmanned vehicles and robotic swarms. NRT's product development portfolio includes a solar power stratospheric high altitude pseudo satellite (HAPS) unmanned platform and an air/ground launched stand-off autonomous system.

Title : Sr. Manager - Business Finance

Roles and Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis:

● Develop, oversee and enforce the financial planning process, including budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.

● Analyze financial data, trends, and performance metrics to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.

● Collaborate with department heads to create departmental budgets and ensure alignment with overall organizational goals.

● Evaluate financial performance against budget and provide variance analysis.

● Knowledge of direct and indirect taxes is desirable.

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

● Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses to stakeholders, including management, board of directors, and external parties.

● Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.

● Oversee internal controls and processes to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.

● Coordinate and manage external audits and examinations.

Strategic Financial Management:

● Identify opportunities for cost optimization, revenue enhancement, and risk mitigation

● Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to support business objectives and ensure financial integrity.

Team Leadership and Development:

● Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities.

● Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance department.

● Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, ensuring efficient workflow and optimal utilization of resources.

Stakeholder / Banking Relationship Management:

● Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders

● Serve as a key point of contact for financial inquiries and communications.

● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and business objectives.

Financial Systems and Technology:

● Evaluate and implement financial systems, tools, and technologies to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.

● Stay current with advancements in financial technology and recommend innovations to improve financial operations.

Special Projects and Initiatives:

● Lead or participate in special projects, initiatives, and ad hoc analyses as required by senior management.

● Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies across the organization.

Key skills to have:

● Knowledge of Indian GAAP, including IndAS

● Timely closure of books every month and Investor reporting

● Experience in cash flow and working capital management

● Effective implementation of processes

● Experience in managing Big 4 auditors

● Experience in implementation of ERP

Team management experience:

● Should have managed a team of at least 5-10 employees.

Qualifications and Experience:

● Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

● CA qualification is mandatory.

● CS, CPA, CFA CMA are a plus.

● 10+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership capacity. Experience in Manufacturing / Engineering organizations is a plus.

● Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

● Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

● Proven ability to lead and develop a team.

● Understanding of US GAAP and Indian GAAP, including IndAS accounting standards

● Strategic thinking and business acumen.

● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
