Job Description
Role Overview:
The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing the complete production process for interior projects, ensuring timely delivery, quality standards, and cost efficiency. A key requirement is expertise in cutlist preparation to optimize material usage and coordinate with the design, procurement, and site teams for seamless execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, manage, and supervise all production activities related to interior fit-out works (modular furniture, joinery, panels, partitions, etc.).
- Prepare, review, and optimize cutlists based on approved design drawings to ensure accurate material usage and minimal wastage.
- Coordinate with the design team to verify technical drawings and ensure feasibility for production.
- Manage and allocate manpower, machines, and resources effectively in the workshop/factory.
- Monitor daily production schedules and ensure projects are delivered within timelines and budget.
- Maintain quality control at every stage of production, ensuring adherence to company and client standards.
- Work closely with procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials as per cutlist requirements.
- Identify process improvements and implement lean production practices to improve efficiency.
- Train and supervise production staff, ensuring safety compliance and proper work practices.
- Liaise with project/site teams for delivery schedules, installation requirements, and resolving production-related issues.
- Prepare daily/weekly production reports and update management on progress, delays, or risks.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Strong expertise in cutlist preparation for modular/interior production.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings (AutoCAD knowledge preferred).
- Knowledge of various raw materials (plywood, laminates, MDF, metal, hardware, finishes).
- Leadership and people management skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Strong coordination and communication skills with cross-functional teams.
- Quality-focused with a strong sense of timelines and cost control.
