Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced FR (Financial Reporting) Team Lead to join our team. This role is perfect for a professional with a strong background in asset management accounting and a proven ability to prepare and review complex financial statements. You'll be instrumental in leading client engagements, ensuring the accuracy of financial reports, and mentoring a team to achieve excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Financial Statement Leadership:
- Prepare and review annual, semi-annual, and quarterly financial statements in accordance with GAAP or IFRS.
- Lead assigned engagements, including planning, budgeting, client relationship management, and delegating tasks to staff.
- Ensure the accuracy of footnote disclosures in line with all relevant standards by reviewing legal fund documents.
- Coordinate the year-end financial statement process and present information to clients and external auditors.
- Team Management & Development:
- Provide guidance to team members to help strengthen specific knowledge areas and achieve team goals.
- Identify errors or problems, investigate independently, and recommend solutions to the team or managers.
- Attend meetings and training to enhance your knowledge and pass it on to junior staff.
- Business & Client Relations:
- Recognize and communicate potential opportunities for new clients and service enhancements for existing ones.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports for clients upon request and assist with preparing Request for Proposals (RFPs) for prospective clients.
- Troubleshoot Fund Accounting issues and contribute to researching and communicating recent authoritative pronouncements globally.

About You

- Experience: Previous experience in Financial Statement review and/or preparation.
- Knowledge:
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS, particularly pronouncements related to the alternative funds industry.
- Advanced knowledge of complex derivatives.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products such as Excel and Word.
- Proficient in navigating Bloomberg.
- Education & Certifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
- CPA, CA, or other professional designation is preferred.
- Attributes:
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Team-oriented with the ability to travel as necessary.
