Job Description Job Title: Sales Manager Government e-Marketplace (GeM) Location: Bengaluru, Karnataka Department: Government & Institutional Sales Reports To: Vice President Sales & Marketing Industry: UPS Systems, VRLA Battery Solutions, Lithium Battery Solutions, Power Backup Job Summary: We are looking for a results-driven Sales Managerfor Government Sales with experience in the UPS and Battery industry to lead our government sales initiatives via the Government e-Marketplace (GeM). The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the complete sales lifecyclefrom product listing to bid submission and client relationship managementwhile ensuring full compliance with government procurement norms. Key Responsibilities: - GeM Portal Management: - Handle end-to-end management of product listings for Battery solutions on GeM, including catalog creation, pricing updates, compliance, and certifications. - Tender Tracking & Bidding: - Monitor GeM for RFQs/RFPs and tenders related to UPS, inverters, and battery backup systems; prepare competitive bids and ensure timely submissions. - Sales Pipeline Development: - Identify and develop leads within central and state government departments, PSUs, defence establishments, railways, and education/health sectors. - Stakeholder Engagement: - Build and maintain strong working relationships with government procurement officers and technical evaluators. - Target Achievement: - Drive sales growth and achieve quarterly and annual GeM revenue targets for battery and power solutions. - Technical Coordination: - Collaborate with internal technical and operations teams to support pre-sales requirements, compliance documentation, and after-sales service commitments. - Documentation & Compliance: - Ensure all documentationsuch as IS, JIS, IEC, BIS, ISO certifications, technical data sheets, etc.meets GeM and government procurement standards. - Market Insights: - Keep track of competitor offerings, pricing, and new developments in the UPS and battery domain to refine our go-to-market strategy. Qualifications & Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (Electrical or Electronics preferred); MBA is a plus - 48 years of experience in B2G sales, with at least 2 years of hands-on GeM sales in the UPS / Battery / Power segment - Solid knowledge of lithium-ion, SMF, tubular, and VRLA battery technologies and applications - Understanding of government procurement processes, technical bid documentation, and vendor registration on GeM - Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills - Proficiency in GeM portal, MS Excel, and CRM systems - Strong analytical and problem-solving ability Preferred Candidates: - Experience in selling power solutions to defence, railways, smart cities, hospitals, or data centers through GeM - Familiarity with DGS&D rate contracts, L1 procurement norms, and reverse auction mechanisms - Certifications in GeM processes or government tendering (preferred but not mandatory) Compensation: Competitive Fixed Pay with attractive performance incentives.
