Position Title: General Manager Accounts
Location: Bangalore, India
Experience Required: Minimum 15 years in Finance & Accounts, preferably in the employee transport services domain, with strong expertise in taxation and compliance
Reports To: Senior Management
Position Overview:
Travels World is seeking an experienced General Manager Accounts to oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Accounts department. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in the employee transport services industry or similar service sector handling large turnovers, and will possess strong skills in taxation, statutory compliance, and financial controls.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounts & Financial Management
Oversee daily accounting operations and ensure timely and accurate financial transactions.
Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing.
Prepare and review financial statements, MIS reports, and variance analyses.
Track and control operational costs in line with budgets.
2. Taxation & Compliance
Ensure timely and accurate filing of GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, and Professional Tax returns.
Liaise with statutory auditors, internal auditors, and tax consultants for audits and assessments.
Stay updated on changes in taxation and compliance laws and implement necessary updates in processes.
3. Internal Controls & Process Improvement
Implement and monitor strong internal controls to safeguard assets.
Standardize and improve accounting processes for efficiency and compliance.
4. Team & Stakeholder Management
Lead and mentor the accounts team for performance and skill enhancement.
Coordinate with operations, HR, and procurement teams to ensure smooth financial workflows.
Maintain strong relationships with banks, auditors, vendors, and statutory authorities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education: CA / CMA / MBA (Finance) preferred.
Experience: Minimum 15 years in Finance & Accounts with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
Must have handled high-turnover operations in the employee transport services or similar service industry.
In-depth knowledge of taxation, statutory compliance, and financial reporting.
Proficiency in Tally ERP and Tally Prime / accounting software and MS Excel.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
