Communications is a team of storytellers and strategic advisors to internal stakeholders to help tell our innovation story across a diverse set of audiences including employees customers partners analysts media and influencers We drive proactive public relations and media engagement across the region while also supporting strategic executive communications that promote Workday s exciting and champion our unique culture Workday is shaping the future of work and we re seeking a strong communications manager who can partner with our India executives to effectively tell our innovation story and raise awareness of the brand in the local market This is a critical role which will drive corporate communications in India The role will work closely with the President of Workday India and the marketing and sales teams The role is based in Mumbai and reports to our head of Corporate Communications across AP J based in Sydney The ideal individual for this role will possess excellent writing skills have experience leading communications for a senior executive be a self-starter able to forge positive relationships with executives and media thrive in a fast-paced environment and have the capacity to prioritise multiple projects at one time And since Fun is one of Workday s core values a sense of humor and not taking oneself too seriously are also highly valued traits Responsibilities Drive a strategic external communications program for Workday India in partnership with the corporate communications and marketing teams Manage executive communications that originate from the India president Manage media relations including earned owned and paid coverage Generate proactive opportunities to secure media coverage of customer stories bylined articles and executive interviews with business technology and industry publications This includes managing social media amplification Work closely with the head of corporate communications in AP J on issues management and crisis response Partner with the marketing team to help develop presentations and keynote addresses for the India president for various events Partner tightly with other teams and stakeholders within Corporate Communications Marketing and other parts of the organisation to ensure tight alignment of messages and narratives Partner with the global Communications team Executive Assistants and AP J Corporate Communications team on internal events for executive visits to India About You Basic Qualifications 10 years working in corporate communications including experience in media relations and executive communications in a fast-paced high-tech company Proven success developing and implementing strategic communications across a variety of channels in support of senior level leaders Established relationships with local journalists and analysts in India and experience in working with a PR agency Experience developing customer advocates in innovative and creative ways to lend their voice to content and marketing activities Ability to distill complex information into clear concise messaging and able to write in a simple direct warm and friendly tone High degree of flexibility with the ability to prioritise projects and manage competing demands in a high-growth environment Outstanding writing and editing skills ability to write for a broad spectrum of multimedia communications channels Technology industry expertise with specific knowledge and experience in the software market SaaS experience is a plus Fluent English language skills are essential Our Approach
