About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the technical strategy, architecture, and delivery of our cybersecurity platform.

This is a hands-on leadership role: you&aposll be building and scaling a small, high-performing team, owning end-to-end engineering execution, and laying the foundation for our product and culture.

Responsibilities

- Own and execute the engineering roadmap in alignment with company goals
- Build and scale a lean engineering team, hiring and mentoring talent
- Drive the design, development, and delivery of secure, scalable software products
- Establish best practices in coding, testing, CI/CD, observability, and architecture
- Collaborate with founders, product, and design to translate business needs into technical execution
- Make technical decisions on architecture, tools, and platform design
- Set and track engineering KPIs for velocity, quality, and reliability
- Ensure compliance with security and regulatory standards
- Stay ahead of emerging technologies and bring in the right innovations at the right time

Success in the First 12 Months

- Build and scale an initial engineering team of 57 engineers
- Deliver the MVP release of Visiblaze IQ and set the roadmap for enterprise readiness
- Establish secure, automated CI/CD pipelines and monitoring baselines
- Define and document engineering best practices and architecture standards
- Demonstrate measurable improvements in team velocity and product quality

Requirements

- Minimum of 8 years of professional software engineering experience
- At least 4+ years hands-on development
- At least 23 years in engineering management (team building, delivery)
- Proven ability to hire, mentor, and grow engineering talent
- Experience delivering SaaS products (cybersecurity, cloud, or compliance preferred)
- Strong foundation in system architecture, microservices, and cloud-native design
- Proficiency in PostgreSQL, Redis, and scalable data modeling
- Experience with REST APIs and GraphQL
- Familiarity with AWS (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda) or similar cloud environments
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins)
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams

Nice to Have

- Experience with Kubernetes or container orchestration platforms
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis Streams)
- Experience with monitoring & logging tools (Prometheus, ELK, CloudWatch)
- Exposure to compliance-driven environments (SOC 2, ISO 27001)
- Understanding of security best practices for SaaS products
