Head of Modern Trade

Company Overview: Nabati Food is a fast-growing FMCG food company with a strong regional and international presence. As we continue to strengthen our footprint in India, we are looking for a Head of Modern Trade to lead and accelerate our Modern Trade business across key national and regional accounts. As Head of Modern Trade, you will own the Modern Trade channel end-to-end, driving sales growth, building strong partnerships with key customers, and ensuring excellent in-store execution. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver sustainable and profitable growth in line with Nabati Food’s expansion strategy in India. Key Responsibilities - Lead and grow Modern Trade business across national and regional modern trade chains. - Develop and execute channel strategy, annual business plans, and sales forecasts. - Manage key customer relationships, including negotiations on commercials, promotions, and joint business plans. - Drive strong in-store execution, visibility, and promotional effectiveness. - Collaborate closely with Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations teams. - Lead, coach, and develop the Modern Trade sales team to achieve targets. - Monitor performance, trade spends, and market trends to identify growth opportunities. Requirements: - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred). - 10–15 years of experience in FMCG sales, with strong exposure to Modern Trade / Key Account Management in India. - Proven experience managing large Modern Trade customers and regional chains. - Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and ability to drive profitable growth. - Leadership experience with a hands-on, execution-focused mindset. - Willingness to be based in Mumbai or Chennai, with regular travel as required.
