A Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction activities at the project site, ensuring that work is carried out according to plans, specifications, and safety standards. The role involves monitoring materials, maintaining site records, resolving technical issues, and ensuring adherence to project timelines. Strong communication, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of civil engineering practices are essential for this position.Key Responsibilities:1. Site Supervision and Execution Supervise day-to-day site activities and ensure work is executed as per design and project specifications. Monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards. Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and workers to maintain workflow and resolve issues on-site. Ensure timely availability of materials, tools, and manpower required for construction work. 2. Technical Oversight Read, understand, and implement construction drawings, blueprints, and technical documents. Provide accurate technical guidance to construction teams regarding measurements, levels, and alignments. Perform layout and leveling works using surveying tools (Total Station, Theodolite, etc.). Assist in structural inspections, concrete pouring, and installation of reinforcements. 3. Quality Control and Safety Ensure that all site activities are performed with the highest level of quality and workmanship. Conduct quality checks on materials and construction processes. Coordinate with the quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) team for regular inspections. Monitor safety measures and ensure that workers comply with safety protocols. 4. Coordination and Communication Act as the primary point of contact between the site and the project office. Communicate daily progress, issues, and deviations to the Project Manager or Senior Engineer. Coordinate with architects, consultants, structural engineers, and other stakeholders for design clarifications and approvals. Liaise with vendors and suppliers for timely delivery of construction materials and equipment. 5. Documentation and Reporting Maintain daily work progress reports and site logs. Track material usage, labor deployment, and equipment utilization. Prepare and submit site measurement sheets, site diaries, and material reconciliation statements. Assist in preparing reports for billing, project milestones, and project tracking. 6. Project Planning and Scheduling Support the project team in planning construction activities and defining work sequences. Ensure all activities are completed within scheduled timelines and highlight any potential delays. Monitor the critical path of the project and support in minimizing delays and cost overruns.Technical Skills: Good knowledge of construction materials, techniques, and site operations. Proficiency in interpreting structural and architectural drawings. Working knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD, and project management software like MS Project or Primavera. Familiarity with surveying tools and instruments. Soft Skills: Strong leadership and team coordination skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
