Urgent Search Water Treatment Plant Operator

Job Summary: We are hiring a responsible and technically skilled Water Treatment Plant Operator / Sewage Treatment Plant Operator to supervise, operate, and maintain systems responsible for the treatment of water or wastewater. The operator will ensure that treatment processes run smoothly, all equipment functions efficiently, and treated water meets the necessary quality standards before discharge or reuse. This role is critical to maintaining environmental compliance, plant safety, and uninterrupted service delivery. The ideal candidate should have a technical background, attention to detail, and the ability to quickly respond to system issues or abnormalities.Key Responsibilities:1. Plant Operation & Monitoring Operate and monitor the day-to-day processes of the water or sewage treatment plant Start and stop pumps, motors, valves, and blowers as needed to regulate flow and treatment Monitor pressure gauges, meters, control panels, and SCADA systems Adjust chemical feed rates or process parameters to maintain treatment efficiency Ensure optimal usage of electricity, water, and treatment chemicals 2. Process Supervision Oversee various treatment stages such as screening, sedimentation, aeration, filtration, disinfection, sludge handling, etc. Supervise biological and mechanical processes, ensuring no deviations occur Identify any abnormal trends in water quality or plant behavior Ensure treated water output meets local environmental discharge norms 3. Water Quality Testing Collect samples at designated intervals and conduct in-house tests (pH, TDS, turbidity, BOD, COD, etc.) Record and maintain water quality test results as per statutory and internal requirements Coordinate with lab technicians or third-party testing services when required 4. Maintenance & Repair Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment like pumps, motors, valves, tanks, dosing systems, etc. Conduct minor mechanical and electrical troubleshooting as needed Identify and report any faults to the maintenance team or supervisor Ensure tools and spares are available and properly stored 5. Troubleshooting Detect and diagnose plant malfunctions or emergency shutdowns Take corrective actions immediately to avoid service disruption or contamination Collaborate with engineers or plant supervisors to resolve critical issues Maintain log of breakdowns and remedial actions taken 6. Documentation & Reporting Maintain plant operational records including logbooks, daily inspection checklists, flow meter readings, chemical usage, etc. Update breakdown reports, maintenance logs, chemical inventory, and incident reports Prepare shift handover notes and highlight any unresolved issues Ensure all documents are properly archived and available for audit or inspection 7.
