Job Description Roles & Responsibilities: Administer and maintain vSphere environments (ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, NSX). Perform installation and configuration of VMware ESXi on multi-vendor hardware such as Dell, HPE, IBM, and Lenovo servers. Install and configure VMware vCenter Server for centralized management of ESXi hosts and virtual infrastructure Perform firmware updates on hardware hosting VMware vSphere Hypervisor (ESXi) to ensure compatibility and stability. Configure Distributed Virtual Switches (vDS) and port groups to segment and isolate VMkernel and VMNIC traffic for improved performance and security. Design and implement high availability, DR solutions, and capacity planning. Perform advanced troubleshooting of performance issues, vMotion, DRS, HA, snapshot-related problems. Creating, mounting, and expanding VMFS and NFS datastores Troubleshooting inaccessible or degraded datastores Performing Storage vMotion (live migration of VM disk files between datastores) Understanding of affinity and anti-affinity rules Understanding snapshot impact on performance Understanding of what SAN/NAS Storage LUNs are presented to ESXi hosts. Adding RDM to VMs (Virtual vs Physical Compatibility Mode) Collaborate with the storage team by supplying necessary detailssuch as host WWPNs, ESXi version, and zoning requirementsto facilitate accurate LUN provisioning. Manage and performing change management for resources like Disk, Memory, CPU provisioning . Manage VMware lifecycle tasks (patching, upgrades, LCM via VUM/Update Manager/VCF). Implement and maintain VMware NSX for micro-segmentation and virtual networking. Automate routine tasks using PowerCLI, Ansible, or other scripting tools. Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes. Collaborate with backup, storage, and network teams for integrated solutions. Work on VM migrations, template management, golden image optimization. Support VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) or hybrid cloud platforms if used. Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge base articles. Create and manage Standard Switches and Distributed Virtual Switches within the vSphere cluster Template creation, modification and hardening Responsible for creating, modifying, and hardening virtual machine templates for secure and standardized deployments. Server Deployment and Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain Windows server operating systems (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022) Server Deployment and Configuration: Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems (Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) Deploy and manage virtual machines using technologies like Hyper-V or VMware Configure server roles, features, and services based on organizational requirements Monitor and optimize virtual machine performance, including server health, resource utilization, and overall availability Implement proactive measures to optimize server performance and scalability Diagnose and resolve complex VM-related issues, including system crashes, resource contention, and performance bottlenecks Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies for Windows servers and Perform regular backups and ensure the integrity and availability of server data Expertise in Windows Server 2016/2019/2022, Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS). Ensure compliance with security policies, hardening guidelines, and audit requirements. Work on incident response and mitigation of security threats Mitigatigation of the VMware vSphere environment related VAPT task . Demonstrated proficiency in VMware administration, providing Level 3 (L3) support in enterprise environments Proficiency in Windows Server (2012, 2016, 2019, 2022) and Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu) deployment via template . Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V). Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP). Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively. Proficient in leading and mentoring the VMware Level 2 (L2) Support Team to ensure effective incident resolution and operational excellence MS Office- Excel, word and Power point Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and task management. Strong understanding of system security principles, including patch management, access control, and vulnerability management. Familiarity with OS architecture and underlying system components. Experience with server backups, disaster recovery procedures, and high availability. Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail. Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment. Industry certifications like ,VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DCV, VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) or Azure Administrator (AZ-104) are a plus. ITIL Foundation Preferred Good Analytical and Problem-Solving skills Customer Centric with solution understanding capability Good written and verbal communication skills (Hindi,English) Should be willing to accept challenges and highly dynamic in nature. Good grasping and aptitude to change as per business needs. Must possess strong interpersonal and communications skills. Must be able to relate to a diverse group of people including technical and development personnel, management, business customers, and vendors in a constructive and effective manner. Must have a solid technical background coupled with desire and ability to grasp skills quickly, combined with deep attention to detail along with excellent verbal and written communication skills 7 + Year of experience in a enterprise-level VMware Environment
