Position Overview
We're seeking an experienced Business Development Manager based in India or Bangladesh to develop, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships with universities and educational institutions across India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan. This remote role is crucial for expanding our network and formalizing agreements that will drive student enrollment and business growth in the Indian subcontinent market.
Key ResponsibilitiesPartnership Development & Management
Identify and establish strategic partnerships with universities, colleges, and educational institutions across India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan
Negotiate and formalize partnership agreements, MOUs, and collaboration frameworks
Develop standardized partnership agreement templates tailored to different institution types
Manage existing partnerships and ensure compliance with all contractual obligations
Local Market Leadership
Serve as Skillverse's local representative in the Indian subcontinent
Conduct face-to-face meetings with university officials and education stakeholders
Build and maintain strong relationships with university admissions teams, international offices, and academic departments
Act as the primary liaison between Skillverse and partner institutions
Market Expansion & Strategy
Conduct on-ground market research to identify potential partner institutions
Develop market entry strategies for new regions within the Indian subcontinent
Analyze competitor partnerships and market positioning
Create partnership performance metrics and reporting systems
Regional Coordination
Represent Skillverse at local education fairs, conferences, and networking events
Coordinate with Skillverse's Australian headquarters on partnership strategies
Provide regular reports on market conditions and partnership opportunities
Ensure cultural and regulatory compliance in all partnership activities
Essential RequirementsExperience & Education
Bachelor's degree in Business, International Relations, Education, or related field
Minimum 3-5 years experience in partnership management, business development, or education sector
Proven track record of successful partnership negotiations and relationship management
Strong understanding of Indian subcontinent education landscape
Experience working with international education or migration consultancies preferred
Location & Availability
Must be based in India or Bangladesh
Willingness to travel within the Indian subcontinent (up to 40%)
Availability to work during overlapping hours with Australian team (flexible scheduling)
Valid passport and ability to travel internationally when required
Skills & Competencies
Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities
Understanding of Australian education system and visa processes
Knowledge of local education regulations and compliance requirements
Proficiency in regional languages (Hindi, Bengali, Urdu advantageous)
Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
