Role Overview As a Mobiliser for Skill Development and Employment Programs, you will play a crucial role in connecting local youth with training and employment opportunities. The Mobiliser will be responsible for identifying, counselling, and enrolling candidates from Dharavi and nearby areas into employment-linked training programs. This field-intensive role demands strong community engagement, counselling ability, and a passion for youth empowerment. You will serve as the vital link between the community and the training centre, ensuring that participants are motivated, informed, and supported throughout their learning journey. Key Responsibilities 1. On-Field Mobilization & Outreach - Conduct door-to-door mobilisation in Dharavi and nearby communities to identify eligible youth. - Organize outreach initiatives such as street plays, community meetings, and mobilization camps. - Build relationships with community leaders, NGOs, youth clubs, schools, and colleges to promote training programs. - Distribute information materials (flyers, posters, banners) across key community touchpoints. - Maintain consistent field presence to maximize visibility and awareness. 2. Candidate Identification & Counselling - Identify unemployed or underemployed youth interested in skill development programs. - Counsel candidates about the benefits of training, job opportunities, and career prospects. - Assess candidates' educational and socio-economic backgrounds to guide them toward suitable courses. - Address concerns, misconceptions, and challenges that may affect participation. 3. Candidate Registration & Data Management - Assist candidates in completing online and offline registration processes. - Verify documents and ensure compliance with program eligibility criteria. - Maintain accurate candidate records in both digital and physical formats. - Coordinate with the MIS/Data team for timely data entry and reporting. 4. Retention & Follow-Up - Conduct regular follow-ups with enrolled candidates to ensure attendance and engagement. - Identify reasons for absenteeism or dropouts and address them proactively. - Motivate and counsel trainees to complete their courses successfully. - Collaborate with trainers and centre heads to monitor and support learner progress. 5. Community Relationship Management - Build and sustain positive relationships with community stakeholders, families, and employers. - Represent the training centre within the community to foster trust and goodwill. - Gather community feedback to enhance mobilisation strategies and outreach effectiveness. 6. Reporting & Coordination - Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly mobilisation and counselling reports. - Share field insights with program teams to improve mobilisation efforts. - Coordinate with placement and training teams to ensure effective program alignment. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) - Number of candidates mobilised and registered per month. - Conversion rate from mobilised to enrolled candidates. - Attendance and retention rate during training. - Course completion and successful placement outcomes. - Accuracy and timeliness of data and reports. Skills & Competencies - Strong communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to build trust and rapport within communities. - Self-motivated, organized, and target-oriented. - Comfortable with extensive field travel and door-to-door engagement. - Empathetic, proactive, and problem-solving mindset. - Basic computer literacy (MS Office, Google Forms, data entry). - Familiarity with online registration and data management platforms. Work Environment - Field-based role operating primarily in Dharavi and nearby areas. - May require flexible working hours, including weekends or special community events.
