Position Overview
We are seeking a Head of Engineering AI-Powered Fintech SaaS to lead our India engineering team (1025 engineers, scaling further). This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a deep technical background and proven ability to design and operate scalable, secure, and resilient systems.
You'll define our engineering strategy, build robust processes, and ensure our SaaS platform grows smoothly with customer adoption.
What will you do
- Own architecture and design for a multi-tenant SaaS platform with high availability and security.
- Build scalable systems to handle growing transaction volumes, real-time analytics, and AI/ML workloads.
- Drive technical choices for backend (Python), frontend (React), cloud infrastructure (AWS), and database (Postgres).
- Contribute to coding, architecture reviews, and prototyping.
- Lead technical deep dives and ensure high code quality.
- Design for scalability, resilience, monitoring, and observability.
- Establish performance benchmarks and capacity planning for growth.
- Ensure robust security and compliance (SOC 2, data privacy, fintech standards).
- Recruit, mentor, and grow a team of engineers into a high-performing org.
- Set up Agile processes, CI/CD pipelines, QA automation, and release management.
- Create a strong engineering culture of ownership, accountability, and innovation.
- Partner with product and business leadership to align the technical roadmap with customer needs.
- Represent engineering in front of clients, partners, and investors when required.
What skills do you need
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 10+ years in software engineering, with at least 4+ years in leadership.
- Proven experience designing and scaling SaaS systems (fintech or B2B SaaS strongly preferred).
- Strong hands-on expertise with: Python (backend, APIs, workflows), React (frontend), AWS (cloud-native), Postgres (databases).
- Experience with AI/ML integration into SaaS workflows, multi-tenant design, data pipelines, and microservices.
- Familiarity with observability tools (logging, metrics, tracing).
- Ability to balance hands-on technical depth with leadership, process, and scaling.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
