Duties
Basic Function of the Position: The position is located in the General Services Office(GSO) in the U.S. Embassy. The incumbent manages and supervises the upholstery shop and hospitality kit shop in the GSO Property and Management Section. S/he will be responsible for daily supervision of six upholsters, two warehousemen and four employees if two BPA Contractors used for repair and installation of window coverings and wall to wall carpeting at residences. S/he should ensures that all assignments are completed correctly while meeting deadlines for assigned jobs. S/he will initiate requests for procurement of fabric and other necessary sewing sundries, coordinates the stitching of draperies for approximately 301 residences, supervises reupholster jobs for offices and residential furniture, and tracks the embassy's slipcover program under the Furniture and Appliances Pool (FAP). S/he will be responsible for keeping the upholstery shop and kit shop safe and organized workplace. S/he will be responsible for maintaining stock levels and inventory through Internal software loanable module. Typing Speed (40 words per minute) is mandatory. S/he must have the ability to lift a maximum of 51lbs(23 kg). The incumbent will also perform other duties as assigned.

**Requirements**:
**EXPERIENCE**:Three years of administrative work experience in warehouse environment and inventory control with office management including understanding of procurement process of household drapes/upholstery material. Six months of supervisory experience is required.

Successful completion of Senior Secondary School (Class XII).

**Good Working Knowledge (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) is required. This may be tested

**Fluent in Hindi (Speaking, Reading, and Writing, Ability to translate) is required. Hindi Translation may be tested.**
