Title: Mutual Fund Back Office Operations Manager
Location: Malad west, Mumbai.
Experience: 5 to 8 years.
**Salary**: 30k to 50k
**Job Description**:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Mutual Fund Back Office Operations Manager. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in setting up and optimizing the back-office operations for our new mutual fund business. You will be responsible for overseeing and streamlining all operational processes to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
**Responsibilities**:
Set Up Operations: Design and implement the operational framework for the mutual fund back office, including workflow processes, systems integration, and procedures.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of regulatory changes and ensure that all back-office operations adhere to relevant regulations, such as SEC, FINRA, and other industry guidelines.
Transaction Processing: Oversee the processing of mutual fund transactions, including purchases, redemptions, exchanges, and transfers, ensuring timely and accurate execution.
Reconciliation: Manage reconciliation processes for cash, securities, and other assets to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Reporting: Develop and generate reports on back-office activities, including transaction volumes, reconciliation status, and operational metrics, for internal and regulatory purposes.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate operational risks through effective controls, monitoring, and escalation procedures.
Vendor Management: Coordinate with third-party service providers, such as transfer agents, custodians, and technology vendors, to ensure seamless integration and optimal service delivery.
Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of back-office professionals, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure a high-performing and cohesive team environment.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize risk exposure.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including portfolio management, compliance, legal, and technology, to support business objectives and drive strategic initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA, NISM 5A is compulsory, Series 7) preferred.
5+ years of experience in mutual fund operations or related financial services operations, with a strong understanding of industry practices, regulations, and technology platforms.
Proven track record of successfully setting up and managing back-office operations for mutual funds or investment management firms.
Deep knowledge of mutual fund transaction processing, reconciliation, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment and drive change initiatives to support business growth and scalability.
