## **Job Summary**:
The Pharma Purchase Manager is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring pharmaceutical products, active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), raw materials, and other necessary supplies. The role ensures that all purchases meet quality standards, are cost-effective, and align with the company's production and distribution timelines. This position requires strong negotiation skills, an understanding of the pharmaceutical supply chain, and adherence to regulatory standards.

## **Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Sourcing and Procurement**:

- Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers for pharmaceutical raw materials, APIs, packaging materials, and finished goods.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable sources of high-quality materials.
- Negotiate terms, prices, and contracts with suppliers to achieve the best possible rates without compromising quality.

2. **Inventory Management**:

- Work with inventory and production teams to forecast and plan procurement based on demand and production schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely procurement to avoid stockouts or excess inventory.
- Oversee the proper storage and handling of purchased materials to maintain quality and compliance.

3. **Quality Assurance and Compliance**:

- Ensure all purchased materials comply with regulatory requirements (FDA, GMP, etc.) and company quality standards.
- Conduct supplier audits in collaboration with the quality control team to maintain quality assurance.

4. **Budget and Cost Management**:

- Manage the purchasing budget and ensure adherence to financial objectives.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and streamline procurement processes to maximize efficiency.
- Prepare regular reports on procurement activities, costs, and supplier performance.

5. **Risk Management**:

- Assess and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, including delays, shortages, and regulatory changes.
- Maintain backup suppliers and contingency plans to ensure an uninterrupted supply of materials.

6. **Cross-Functional Collaboration**:

- Collaborate with R&D, production, quality assurance, and logistics teams to ensure seamless operations and alignment on material specifications and timelines.
- Work with finance and legal teams to ensure contracts and purchase agreements comply with internal policies.

## **Requirements**:

- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or additional certifications (e.g., APICS, CIPS) is preferred.
- **Experience**: Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- **Skills**:

- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry regulations and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in inventory management and ERP software.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
