- Responsible for purchasing items in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Assist in preparing request for quotations (RFQ’s) based on projections for combined plant quantity and material requirements
- Evaluate, purchase and expedite materials for our facilities at a competitive cost.
- Must be knowledgeable of marketplace cost drivers. Close interaction with corporate and plant personnel is required.
- Develop strong knowledge of the OEM equipment marketplace as well as plant operations.
- Utilize purchasing terminology (or be comfortable learning it)
- Utilize Supplier Relationship Management programs that focus on Quality, Productivity and Innovation.
- Analyzes quotations received, selects or recommends suppliers, and schedules deliveries.
- Assists the plants in following up to expedite delivery and shipment.
- Checks and approves invoices to maintain necessary records and files for efficient operation.
- Collect, analyze and monitor category specific information on spend, supplier performance, user adoption and compliance, standards and specifications, industry benchmarks.
- Responsible for adhering to all internal and OSHA required safety procedures in performing daily work activities.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping throughout the work area.
- Maintain a positive working relationship with all levels of the organization.
- Assures compliance with federal, state, local and corporate policies, regulations and laws.

**Required Skills**:

- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of zero to three (3) years experience.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Effective negotiating skills
- Ability to learn a purchase order system.
- Ability to use creative methods to manage inventories and supply agreements.
- Ability to understand complex equipment and production projects.
- Solid presentation and communication skills
- Strong finance, quantitative, and analytical skills
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and techniques (TQM, Six Sigma, etc.)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
- Ability to read and write in English and perform mathematical calculations.
